Dunstans Construction Group was awarded a project by the Public Works NSW for the Eurobodalla Shire Council to install a 1.2km pipeline below the Cullendulla Mangrove Reserve and the Cullendulla Creek to service the growing population in Long Beach.
Due to the urbanised location and the environmentally sensitive nature reserve, Dunstans provided a reduced risk option that addressed the Council’s concerns with the project. Two HDD rigs were used to complete an intersection.
This was one of the largest HDD projects completed on behalf of Eurobodalla Shire Council / NSW Public Works to date. The installation reduces the impact to landholders and the environment by utilising trenchless technology as well as removing the environmental risks associated with the existing pipeline that was exposed along the beach of Cullendulla Mangrove Reserve.
