Case study

VicTrack Fast Rail Project

In 2005, Visionstream contracted Dunstans Construction Group to install 42km of 63mm HDPE conduit for rail signalling cable and communications for the VicTrack fast rail project.

We were contracted to complete the conduit installation as a result of our proven track record of delivering projects in environmentally harsh, remote locations.

  • Our team utilised a specially designed plough mounted on a D8 tractor to install the conduit.
  • The mostly rocky ground conditions proved difficult. In addition, as the rail corridor was narrow, there were limited options to change the alignment.

Despite the project’s challenges, Dunstans successfully completed this project on time and budget, meeting all the client’s expectations while meeting safety and quality targets.
