In 2013, Dunstans Construction Group was contracted by AJ Lucas to design, construct and install a 300mm steel pipeline in Moranbah, as part of Arrow Energy’s Node 3 Gas Pipeline.
We mobilised our 250 tonne Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) spread
to complete the 550m crossing beneath three waterways including the Isaac River.
- HDD was selected as the preferred method to install the gas pipeline, due to the site’s proximity to highly sensitive environmental and cultural heritage areas.
- The pipeline was installed with no impact on environmentally
or culturally sensitive areas. - Our consultant team provided high-level management plans to ensure compliance with all environmental and cultural heritage issues, and conducted regular audits to fulfil these requirements
to the satisfaction of Arrow Energy. - The site’s remote conditions and limited availability of water were challenging.. Using the Dunstans camel tanker acting for water storage and the self-contained cleaning system on site, we were able to overcome these challenges.
Dunstans successfully completed this project on time and budget, exceeding the expectations of AJ Lucas and Arrow Energy, and satisfying all stringent safety and quality standards.
