HDD in the Otway National Park

Dunstans Construction Group has recently completed 2 HDD projects in the Otways National Park Victoria for John Holland on the Colac Pipeline Replacement. The project involved one crossing 292 meters long and another at 340 meters long, 500mm HDPE PN16 was installed on both crossings. The project posed significant challenges whilst working in a class A nature reserve with daily sitings of Platypus. Dunstans also drilled to a depth of 30 meters below the surface encountering some very high strength rock. The project was a huge success.

Macedon Gas Pipeline WA

Dunstans Construction Group have completed 70km of direct buried zero tension FOC installation for Streicher Clough JV near Onslow Western Australia. Dunstans installed the FOC parallel to the 20″ gas pipe 70km along the ROW, The Gas Pipe will transport LNG from BHP’s offshore gas fields to the pre constructed DBNGP line. Dunstans also self performed Horizontal Directional Drilling to mitigate any cultural impacts in sensitive areas. The project has been a great success.

HDD Under The Anglesea

Dunstans have successfully completed the Anglesea River Crossing for the Barwon Water Alliance. Dunstans utilised a 100% biodegradable drill fluid comprising of Xanthan Gum to greatly reduce any potential impact on the significant water ways. Dunstans provided a full EPC service to deliver the project on time with zero incidents.

QCLNG FOC Installation

Dunstans have mobilised and commenced works on the FOC Installation for the QCLNG Pipeline in QLD Australia. Dunstans have been contracted by MacDow and Consolidated Contractors Company Joint Venture (MCJV) to provide a turnkey installation for 540km of single mode 48 core fibre optic cable.

Dunstans Crews Signalling On BHP-RGP5

O’Donnell Griffin Pty Ltd – Signaling Work- Port Hedland W.A, RGP5

Dunstan’s are currently working on BHP leased mining land. The RGP5 Rail Duplication Project is in Iron ore country in the Pilbara, near Port Hedland, W.A. The project is to complete civil earthworks prior to the installation of train signaling. The increase Iron Ore production and delivery to Port Hedland will enhance Australia’s export activity to the world market. Dunstans Vermeer D36X50 Series II is completing crucial rail crossings to deliver the project in a timely fashion.

Victorian Desalination Project

The Dunstans built D594 pipelayers are being used by Nacap on the Victorian Desalination Project. The pipelayers play a crucial roll in handling the large pipe.

It will be the largest desalination plant in Australia, supplying 150 billion litres of water a year to Melbourne, Geelong and some regional communities.

Dunstans Secure Gladstone LNG Contract

Santos and PETRONAS’ multibillion-dollar GLNG project will use world-first technology to process coal seam gas into liquefied natural gas, as a cleaner energy source.

Dunstans have mobilised a substantial amount of equipment including one of our Caterpillar D10′s to participate in the construction on the project. The initial 12 month contract is well underway

Silcar Communucations Pty Ltd – Fibre Optic Cable Installation Completed at Karara Mine W.A

Dunstans have completed the installation of the fibre-optic cable network at the Karara Iron Ore Mine – 2 hours inland from Geraldton. Commenced in October 2010 this smaller project was anticipated to be completed by the end of November. Dunstans were chosen for the project due to their outstanding safety record and exceptional diversified plant and equipment meeting all mine site regulations. Fibre Optic Cable Installation in Remote W.A.

Silcar Communications – Fibre Optic Cable Installation in Remote W.A.

Dunstans ploughed 350 km of fibre-optic cable in the Pilbara region of Western Australia from Telfer Gold Mine to the coast at Pardoo Roadhouse. Dunstans ploughed and horizontal directional drilled through 15 sand dunes which had environmental issues for revegetation and erosion control. Dunstans employed a number of local indigenous workers from the Bidgedanga Community to operate machinery and assist in construction. Mobile camps were used after leaving the Telfer Mine site—this presented issues: fuel availability, storage facilities, environmental, water, food, sanitary and safety. Dunstans were able to identify and manage all of these issues very successfully.
